Safe Kids Davis County is helping families get ready for summer by highlighting health and safety during the 17th Annual Safe Kids Day on Saturday, May 6, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Davis County Legacy Events Center Arena (151 South 1100 West, Farmington).
The event will feature Staker Parson’s giant indoor sandbox, SeaQuest Aquarium show, Davis Hospital’s inflatable slide, Wee Care Pediatrics’ Healthy Hero Camp obstacle course, Intermountain LiVe Well jump rope team, and much more. There will be 300 children’s bike helmets given away (one helmet per child – first come, first serve) sponsored by Intermountain McKay-Dee Hospital. Silver Eagle Refining will exchange your old gas powered mower for a new electric mower (first 10 Davis County residents). Also, participants can enter prize drawings held throughout the event.
“All activities will be based on the movie ‘Sing’ and will help children and youth recognize their own talents that make them special and can help them cope with stress in a healthy way. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to come for lots of great information on how to keep their kids active, healthy and safe, as well as the interactive games and the food vendors,” said Amy Mikkelsen, Suicide Prevention Coordinator for the health department.
