When you’re trying to climb the corporate ladder, things can be a bit tough, but when you are woman working for a “sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot,” it’s even worse. Three co-workers Judy, Violet, and Doralee despise their boss and think up all sorts of ways of doing him in, but when an innocent mistake turns deathly, things take a turn for the wacky and wild. A laugh a minute comedy from the 1980’s hit movie, starring Dolly Parton, about three heroines taking on “the man” and stepping into the shoes they were always meant to fill.
CenterPoint Legacy Theatre encourages you to read the script or view the 1980’s movie version of 9 to 5 before purchasing a ticket if you are concerned with objectionable content. The musical closely parallels the movie, which would likely be rated PG-13 today.
